Business SHSM: Accounting and Innovative Management (AIM)

Required Components for the Business SHSM

  1. A bundle of nine Grade 11 and Grade 12 credits.
    1. 4 Business major credits
    2. Grade 11 and 12 Math; Grade 12 English
    3. 2 Cooperative Education credits that provide authentic learning experiences in a workplace setting
  2. Six sector-recognized certifications and/or training courses/programs:
    1. 4 compulsory: First Aid, CPR, WHMIS and Customer Service
    2. 2 electives from a list of additional certifications and training courses/programs
  3. Experiential learning and career exploration activities within the sector (ie. Conferences, Trade Shows, Tour of Chamber of Commerce, etc.)
  4. "Reach ahead” experiences connected with the student’s post-secondary pathway
  5. Development of Essential Skills and work habits required in the sector.
