Dufferin-Peel Business Certificate

Thinking about pursuing a rewarding career in the Business world? Success starts with a good Post Secondary education, and one way students get a competitive advantage is by having a Business Certificate among their credentials when applying to college and university programs. It's more than a piece of paper; it is tangible recognition for your commitment to at least six high school business courses. Post-secondary institutions recognize this effort, and so do employers.

The criteria for receiving a Business Certificate:

Students must complete a minimum of 6 Business Studies Credits with a minimum average of 60%.

  • Minimum 4 credits coded with a 'B' (i.e.: BTT, BTA, BDI, BBI, BMI, BOH, BAT, BBB, BDV)
  • 2 other credits can be taken from the following courses:
    • Grade 11 Economics (CIE3M) and/or Grade 12 Economics (CIA4U)
    • 1 Interdisciplinary Business credit (e.g.: Building Financial Security, Sports Marketing)
    • 1 Business related Cooperative Education credit
    • 1 English (EBT40) Business Communication credit
